The beauty of this area never fails to amaze me & keeps us coming back year after year. The beautiful rock formations, the hiking trails, the swimming holes & waterfalls are what makes the Cedarberg so special. There are many accommodation options to choose from, from camping to rustic cottages to upmarket chalets. Love this place!
Strangely enough, it feels like the Scottish highlands. Beautiful drives and stunning scenery. go in September to catch the glorious wildflowers.
This is a place that still has very little evidence of mankind. There are stretches of unspoilt views and a bounty of hiking trails to choose from. Be careful not to loose your heart to this place. It really makes me feel like I am free and a visual feast from mountains to plants (fynbos) to strange rock formations.
We stayed in the Algeria Camp, run by Cape Nature, in one of the new chalets. On the first day we walked up the waterfall trail from the Algeria campsite - a fairly strenuous walk but the trail is very well marked and is relatively smooth. The waterfall is spectacular - make sure to scramble the last couple of metres... 更多
Rugged mountains and clear night skies. This is a treat everyone should enjoy. If you love hiking there are numerous trails of varying difficulty. The bushman paintings are definitely worth visiting. There are also some great 4x4 drives especially down to the Bidouw Valley. My favorite place to stay is Sanddrif below the Arches.
Many attractive areas in this vast wilderness area. From the Rocklands boulders around the Pakhuys pass to the Stadsaal caves and the San rockart. Excellent area for birding. High likelihood to encounter Baboon families, Eland-antelopes, Springbok and Dassies. There is also a winery and a brewery. If you like nature you can spend at least a week with Clanwilliam as... 更多
It's worth driving 3 hours up the N7 West Coast highway turn off at Clanwilliam up through the Pakhuis Pass, passed Louis Leipold's final resting place into the rugged beauty of the Cederberg- stunning rock formations and wide open spaces that invite trail walks and rock climbing. Don't miss the amazing bushman paintings. The people farming in this arid area... 更多

Feels like a different country as you drive over the passes to reach Cedarberg WA. We stayed in Gecko Camp on the Algeria side of the WA, which is convenient to access but is a long way from most of the walks. The main area seems to be around the Cedarberg Vineyard. The roads are fairly rough with a lot... 更多
