Had a marvelous time! I could have spent hours in this place, but unfortunately time would not allow it. I love it's quirkiness and artistic showcases. And his staff are friendly and they make sure you have a good time. Wish there was more tinker town trinkets in the gift shop though. Highly recommend!
Artist Ross Ward spent 40 years building mechanized dioramas and models! It's truly an amazing experience, this place is a must for everyone. This is not the kind of rush thorough place, the details in the scenes of the dioramas and displays are amazing. Make sure you press all the buttons under the scenes. I love the old coin operated... 更多
My grandchildren were not too enthusiastic about visiting a museum, until they went through the gift shop. It has an astounding collection of rocks, geodes, and just really good stuff like, a hand held hummingbird feeder. There are working displays, all the carving being done by the owner. There are antiques from all over the world. Tools, dolls, a 36... 更多
This is a fun little museum of miniature scenes. There are street scenes, a huge circus scene and more. Some of these have a button you can push that activates some sort of motion (e.g. Mary Poppins flies). Apparently, these were all carved by the same man (there was something that said "I did this while you were watching TV").... 更多
What a great hidden treasure. While driving on the Turquoise Trail in New Mexico, my husband and I came upon Tinkertown. This place was off the beaten path and hidden among the beautiful scenery of New Mexico. It was like going to a place that you will never experience again. Built with mortar and old glass bottles, this place had... 更多
5 years in ABQ and I had never been. About $3 per person, there was enough to see for 2 hours of walking around. Makes you want to give up tv and start an equally fun hobby.
I'' be honest, someone recommended the visit to us, and the name, I wondered, it this was going to be worth the trip. But,if you like quirky and unique, or repurpose, reuse this is the place for you. There are tons of ideas here. This guys work will amaze you..The inspiration, and the amount of time it took to do all... 更多
This is a great stop on the Turquoise trail. We did not go into the museum but walked around the rest of it. It just creates a happy feeling to be among all of the things that have been created out of precious finds. From the fence of bottle ends, to the bench painted "in the pursuit of Happiness" We... 更多
Tinkertown defies description--you just have to see it! It is really difficult to try to explain it, except to recommend you visit. There is nothing else quite like it. Admission is very reasonable (see photo), and there are thousands of things to see--from a sailboat to miniatures to a great gift shop.
My family has lived in Albuquerque for eleven years. During that time, I literally can't count how many times we've been to Tinkertown. This place is a monument to imagination and to the spirit of creativity! My teenage son has become very interested in sculpture, and I think Ross Ward must e a part of his inspiration. Go if you... 更多
