This is the church painted by many artists...usually the rear so walk around the entire outside. And notice the old abandoned abode ruins/buildings around the square. and the blue doored home and shocking red old building next to the church. This is a great photo location. Well worth the drive.
Got to see only the back end of the church due to filming underway. Very historic due to Georgia O'Keeffe comments and painting as well as painting by others.
Everyone has seen paintings and photos of the back of this building. The front is quite different, and beautiful. Inside is a wonderful example of a Spanish Colonial church, in excellent condition. Highlight: Two historic, restored, beautifully painted altar screens. Nearby shops are worth checking out as well.
You can only see the back of the church and no crosses or steeples are visible from the road.very small sign. Behind a group of stores. Somewhat disappointed.
A really neat old mission Catholic church (the oldest unrestored church in America). After a beautiful ride from Santa Fe on the Low Road, my wife and I stopped here to admire the old architecture and great lines of this old building. Afterwards, go to Taos Plaza and eat at Bella's - definitely try the Elote!
As part of our tour we stopped at the church long enough to go in and take pictures, outside. What I found interesting was how the Adobe glittered in the sun. We enjoyed it so much we went back on our own. However it was difficult to find with our gps.
I'm so glad I explored the entire plaza surrounding this church. It is old, quaint and beautiful filled with flowers and old fences, just my kind of place. The shops have local and good prices on merchandise but the feature is the church. I enjoyed sitting in the quiet and serene atmosphere of the church, imagining how many had been... 更多
This is a small beautiful New Mexican church . There are rooms with crutches, and wheelchairs left on the spot after the person has been blessed, There is blessed soil available to take out of the church.
The San Francisco de Asis Mission Church is the major highlight on a visit to Ranchos De Taos just south of Taos. It was hard to find, not well marked. Other than the church, the area showed its wear and tear. There were old adobe ruins. In 1815 the San Francisco de Asis Mission Church was completed. Famous artist Georgia... 更多
