The focus of this park is the ruins of the Long Pond Ironworks, which date to the 1700's. See a number of homes dating to the early and mid-1800s. The visitor center was closed but a number of informational brochures were available. The homes were also closed up. Nice short walk….once you are away from the road it is a bit deserted. Great to imagine the past here….which you can do easily when there is no car traffic.... 更多
I was there with my dog, and a very menacing man, dressed in all black, came up behind us. Then disappeared. I called the police and was told not to return to the area
A place managed totally by volunteers trying to maintain the local history alife. With love for history and a lot of enthusiasm, and little money the site is wonderful for hiking and learning history. they have diffrent events over the summer. look for their web pare and also in FaceBook.
