I've been going to Cheesequake for decades. There is a nice, wooded camping area for families, and a grassy camping area for large groups in a more secluded section. The Park offers a selection of trails for hiking of varying lengths in lovely natural areas, a lake for swimming, and an interesting small nature lodge with a knowledgeable naturalist on... 更多
We camped there with our kids with our trailer tent while visiting New York City. The campground is made for tents. But it worked fine for our small pop-up. It was really quiet at night and clean. Some sites have very little coverage between sites as predecessors have destroyed some of the vegetation. But overall it was great. But you... 更多
We pulled in because we needed a place to camp. We pulled in at 10:30.. they close the gates. I'm still confused how places have camping yet shut gates. We drove 3 hours to get there and had to figure something out real quick. On a 2 week camping spree up the east coast, this ended it (had to get... 更多
Never go in the summer. There isn't that much bug repellent in the world. Go when it cool early spring or fall to hike the really nice trails. NEVER IN THE SUMMER!!!!
This is a good place to go with little kids or kids who don't need waves and ocean. Easy to keep an eye on kids, pretty clean and they have a pavilion where you can buy food, take showers or just sit and get into the shade.
They charge to access the park $10 per car. They have a small swimming hole that is filthy! No real amenities and carry out garbage policy so basically nothing for your $10!
Camp sides are too close to highways and some very far from one and only bathroom for all campground. You really need use a car. If you are looking for a place with a lot of mosquitoes this is the one:( Mosquitoes are everywhere, even by the beach. Lake smells and I am not sure how people are swimming there.... 更多
I visit Cheesecake probably once a week. The trail system is fantastic. Trails from one mile up to 3 miles and you can easily spend half a day walking around and enjoying nature. In the summer they have a swimming area and snack bar as well. Although we haven't done it, they have some really gorgeous camping areas.
I really do like this park. I am an avid fan of the great outdoors. As such this place is so big and als so close to civilization. You are 5 minutes from exit 123 on the GSPKWY. You can get lost on the trails. Not really as they are marked but your 10 minuntes in and stop and look... 更多
Recently we visited Cheesequake State Park in the spring on our way to the Jersey Shore. I’ve always wanted to stop to check out the views of the tidal salt marsh from the parks viewing areas. We stopped by the Park Office to pick up a map and use their restroom which was a good idea since the restrooms at... 更多
