The site of the nature center itself is on a city block, not by a nature preserve. They have a nice gift shop and a couple of small areas with nature exhibits appropriate for young children - turtle, snake, tarantula, octopus, hermit crabs, etc. There's an upper level that offers a lookout over the water. We stopped by before Memorial Day and they were just starting to get things together for the high season. One staff member took the time, though, to answer our questions and show up around. It should be a prize visit after Memorial Day.
A great family place to visit for sure. Lots of wonderful programs and educational opportunities. It located on the Northern part of the island near the coast guard base. They seem to have a little something for everyone!
Near the Coast guard base on the island of Cape May. sign up for one of their events like the one where kids explore the edge of the harbor across the street to find things
