My only recommendation is that you go before the end of October and after it opens in the spring so you can climb the tower for the view. We did the mile and a half walk up and down and were disappointed that the tower was closed. The view is spectacular. Its a nice little outing.
Easy hike up the car path. Some branching trails, but we didn't explore. We went on a rainy day and still had great views with the breaks in the clouds. Would be incredible on a clear Fall day!
Unfortunately it was a cloudy rainy day, but we still hiked up the auto road. Due to the rain we had the mountain to ourselves. The top was high enough to be above the fog so we could see the surrounding mountains. Being off season, the museum and tower were closed. Look forward to going back on nice day. Wish... 更多
Historic home of the famed senator and conservationist. Many original furnishings and accoutrements, in a beautiful setting. The ranger gives an up-close tour, and is rather enthusiastic in a quiet New England way. The tower is off to the side of the house.

The views from the home and the tower are spectacular! next year we will plan on attending one of the free concerts.
We visited the park when we were visiting NH in August. We did the nature walk and climbed to the top of the tower, which has amazing views of the White Mountains including the Presidential Range.
