Our visit to the Moffatt Ladd House was unintentional, as we stumbled upon the property as we walked around Portsmouth. Deciding to visit the house was among the best decisions of our vacation! We were fortunate to have Lauren as our guide though the home, and her descriptions of the family relationships as well as the property itself were fascinating.... 更多
We showed up right when it opened on the Friday before the 4th of July. Our personalized tour was great, and we learned a lot about the house, its history and the people who made it a special place. Be sure to check out the beautiful gardens surrounding the house and the awesome views out of all the windows. The... 更多
This is a nice place to visit in the summer when the gardens are in full bloom. The home is beautiful and well maintained. The history is always interesting.
We were the only people visiting at that time of the morning and had the tour guide's complete attention. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and we had a great time talking with her.
Anyone visiting Portsmouth must be aware of the history of this NH seacoast city, but the Moffatt Ladd House is a must see on your historical visit here. The gardens are breathtaking and the chestnut tree was planted in 1776!!
Docent led tour of house gave its history and took us thru all 3 levels. Beautiful garden, time period furniture, interesting architectural features. Probably spent about an hour going thru it. Reasonably priced for a great tour.
Attended a wedding here and it was a perfect location with beautiful grounds and lots of options for ceremony, dinner and dancing. The keeper of the house was filled with knowledge and history of the home and the owner and was very friendly and took time to talk with us. It is a very charming location to hold a wedding
Enjoyed our tour, great docent and wonderful house with fascinating history. If you like old house tours, don't miss this one!
This lovely historic home is furnished with many articles that are original to the house as well as other period pieces. The tour guide was very knowledgable and the house is full of interesting stories. The gardens behind the house are lovely and the horse chestnut tree was planted the year the Declaration of Independence was signed. Beautiful.
