We dove to the top. Narrow road, no guard rails, clouds. A little unnerving. But we made it. A lot colder, snow and the air was thin. Finally got use to altitude. What views!!! Would love to go back.
Didn't think this would interest us much - but we were really impressed with the simple but fascinating story of the Mount Washington weather station. Neither my wife nor I are big fans of heights - so we were able to take in some of the Mount Washington experience without the expense and terror that comes with its extreme heights.... 更多
If you don't know about this little center, you will miss it. It is in a small house across the street from the Eastern Slopes Inn. Mt. Washington has the most unpredictable weather in the US. Come into this little center and find out why. It is essentially free, with only a donation requested. Give as much as you can,... 更多
whether you hike up the mountain to the summit or drive yourself, it really is something amazing. Definitely should be on your New Hampshire's to do list. I've been coming to the White Mountains, specifically the observatory, since I was a little girl, I'm 31 now & it never ceases to amaze me. People of all ages would enjoy this.... 更多
Let me first advise you to dress warmly- even if it is 90+ degrees at the base. That way you will thoroughly enjoy your trip! I chose to take the Cog Railway for my visit. It was so enjoyable and the train operator was a wealth of knowledge and had a lot of interesting historical information to share. I di... 更多

Hiked the mountain, but it started raining, and rainstorm plus dense fog once we reached the top. Can't see anything, haha. Their lodge was quite a good place to take shelter. One person in our groups got some cuts during the hike, and need a bandage. The information desk gave us what we need luckily. We took the shuttle on... 更多
My husband I took the Auto Road to Mt. Washington when we stayed up in North Conway for our Anniversary this past Fall -our goal was to see the brand new Extreme Mt. Washington exhibit at the Observatory, as we had made a modest donation at the start of the campaign to re-design the museum. And redesign it they did!... 更多
My husband and I enjoyed the experience , it was very informative . We really enjoyed the experience of the wind velocity on mount Washington. We also watched the movie , after we left we decided to take the snow car up 4100 feet of mount Washington due to what we saw at the observatory.
We went on a cloudy day so visibility was limited but it was still fun! My husband and I cannot wait to take our 9 year old. Great adventure even if you are fearful of heights. Definitely worth a visit!!!
I am terribly afraid of heights. However my husband and I drove up and I was amazed at the views that Mount Washington had to offer!
