Went here on a whim. All exhibits were closed due to a "classroom" visiting. The "classroom" consisted of 4 kids and 2 disinterested "teachers". All the people who actually were there to see the fish ladder were told to come back later.
Located near the La Quinta Inn. Park in the lot and then follow the fish path (seriously) down a completely paved path. Listen to the water rushing by. Check out the lock. When you get to the bottom you will have a clear view of a fish ladder. Enter the museum. Pretty small. Go downstairs and sit and watch the... 更多
Took my 3 year old grandson for an afternoon of fish viewing. It was really interesting to see all of the fish trying to get up the river. The viewing window is pretty large but if alot of people are there it would be difficult to have a great view. They also had alot of fun activities for the kids,... 更多
Discovered the learning center when we dicided to pull off the highway to see the waterway. The ladder had just been drained on our first visit, so we made a point to return when it was in season. Facinating talk given by the docents, and there are small educational display areas up and down stairs. Worth an hour's visit if... 更多
Visit the Fishways! You'll enjoy the educational aspects of the facility, adjacent to a water power plant, and part of the waterfalls at Amoskeag. You'll learn the history of the area, see some of the natural critters, and most amazingly, be able to watch fish like shad, herring, and maybe even a salmon, progress thru the ladder up above the... 更多
We had some time to kill before checking into our hotel and figured we'd check this place out. It is in a beautiful location and the staff was very helpful in explaining the way the ladder works. This is a great place for kids and adults. The windows in the lower floor allowed us to see the fish swimming against... 更多
Just ok center. Free display and viewing window to watch fish ladder under water. If you want to see the Merrimack river and learn a little about the history this is your place. If you expected a well kept learning center this is not the place. Also no access to the water from here.
We were driving around Manchester when we came across this place. It looked interesting, so we stopped to check it out. It was a fun and educational visit.
Ideally visit this during one of there special event days. Been a couple times but have never seen any fishing going up river via the glass viewing wall inside the fishway. A great place to just stop in with the kids, adults, seniors. Plan for 30-60 minutes should do it.
