The museum exhibits cover every historical aspect of life in central Nevada. Inside the museum there are fossils, Indian artifacts, examples of minerals, mining tools, the railroad's importance, the military presence during WWII and much more. The gift shop has an excellent collection of books for sale, covering every area of interest. The outdoor exhibits have mining equipment, miner's cabins,... 更多
This museum has many interesting photos and artifacts spanning over 100 years of Central Nevada history. There are indoor and outdoor exhibits, with a large research library as well. The outdoor exhibits include entire buildings from the mining era. There are also exhibits regarding the Tonopah Air Field, with a small indoor section dedicated to the military history of the... 更多
This little museum is well worth a visit. There are outdoor exhibits as well as many inside, with a whole lot off emphasis on prehistoric aspects of the area, flight, mining, historical/cultural events and interesting local people. There is also a VERY impressive selection of books for sale relating to Nevada and the local area. The staff is very friendly,... 更多

This is a fun museum with both exhibits in the museum as well as a wealth of exhibits in the yard in front of and behind the museum building. When we first came in the exhibits were dark. Then a lady came out and turned the lights on. The... 更多

Outside you can wander around the authentic old buildings from mining days, see mining machinery and bits and pieces from the nearby Air Force Testing Range. Quite an amazing collection for a small... 更多
Was closed when we were there (too early) but am making plans to return. However we were able to walk around all the outside exhibits and they have a great collection of..."stuff"! Planning on returning this month, and being there during open hours!

He also is highly informative of all the mining history of not only Tonopah but of the many surrounding small towns who were once part of the booming Nevada mining industry around the turn of the century. I would highly recommend visiting and talking with Allen as he... 更多
The nice Curator and exhibits showed me the history and the town, including the base with its bomber history. One of the Earp brothers ended up there. Natural history and maps and books make this a great place to start learning about Tonopah. Unfortunately, they could use money for upgrades, as most museums need all the time.
