We arrived Sunday as the Truckee was flooding. Most of the walk was closed but the river was fascinating at flood stage. During the week it receded and the walk was - as always - fun and beautiful.
Take a few hours and enjoy the river walk. Go in the early afternoon so all the homeless have time to get up and moving. Don't stay late because of security reasons.
(I initially wrote this under "Truckee River Walk") oops. This park/riverwalk is a breath of fresh air in downtown Reno. The city or park planners have done an excellent job is creating a peaceful respite from the hub bub that one encounters in the rest of the downtown. Weather permitting this is a wonderful place to visit.
Good scenery and a nice way to spend a few hours wandering around. Plenty of things to do (window shop or just enjoy the sunshine). Good place to take the family.
What a welcome and wonderful escape from "the city"! Quiet, peaceful and there is nothing like the sound of the river. The paved walk way is inviting to walk or run! Nice benches along the way to stop and take it all in! Loved it!
We enjoyed walking along the river - contemporary environment, bridges, sculptures. Very green area. If any chance to keep the homeless people out - that would make this place even better!
This is the best place in Reno. Casinos, bars, restaurants, movie theater along the the river. A nice stroll morning day and night along the river. This is just the best part I love in Reno. The Reno Riverwalk is an amazing experience.
A great path to walk and see different highlights of reno and the area. It would be great if the walk extended farther east than lake st. but there is more development to be done
Kids took us to show us around all the new development. Outstanding. Shows how a city takes pride in showing off some of its assets. (truckee river) new fun restaurants and bars, great scenery and trails and places to rest along the walk.
