This is a great walk if you like beautiful old buildings and want to learn a little about the city's past. However, if you are expecting to learn more about Kit Carson then this walk is not for you.
The Blue Line Trail showcases the old, historic Carson City and has some fine architecture for those who love the 1860's homes - many occupied by former governors and those who founded Carson City. Easy to follow by foot or by car.
My husband and I enjoyed this tour. It was a great way to get to know the town and its background. I would recommend doing this while you are in town.
We loved Carson City and the Kit Carson (blue line) walking trail was a wonderful way to see some beautiful vintage homes and other sights. We loved the concept and it made our visit to this city even more enjoyable
Despite the December cold, it was fun to walk the trail, stop at each of the houses and read about it's history. The neighborhood is very walkable with very little traffic. I printed the trail map fron the internet. There's some neat old churches in the neighborhood. I attended Sunday morning services at the Methodist Church - really enjoyed it.
Certainly time well spent walking the Kit Carson Trail in beautiful Carson City. You get a real feel for the time era of the old west as you visit the various buildings along this historic trail through the state capitol.

You can get a map at the visitors center that shows the path has details about the historical building along the path. Also there is an app that can be downloaded that gives the history of the buildings.... 更多

In most places the trail is well marked with a blue line and medallions inserted into the sidewalk. In others, it was a little hard to follow. I recommend using Google map. I enjoyed the varied architecture of the state buildings, from Art Deco to colonial (ish) to Victorian to post modern. There was even a replica of the Liberty... 更多
