We were given a tour of the Mansion by a very knowledgeable guide. Our guide enjoyed her job and made the tour fun. If you have the time and tours are available, it is worth seeing.
We did the Capitol tour - and noticed the Governors Mansion had tours the same day in the afternoon. Had lunch and decided to go for it. Worth the visit - some interesting decor and bits of Nebraska History. Would do it again!
The house was completely redecorated about 15 years ago. Not much is original to the house but there is a "doll room" that has a case of dolls labelled by Governor's spouses and their gowns. It is a beautiful house and I am glad we went.
Across the street you will find the incredible State Capital Building. Go there instead of here. The gov's mansion looks like a 1960's Ramada Inn - both inside and out. I have taken my fourth graders there several times. The tour staff have interesting facts to share. It is fun to see inside a mansion. They don't take us in the kitchen or upstairs to the living quarters, but we are able to see the living room, the formal dining room, an office, and family dining room, and several rooms... 更多
