I went here on my way home when I moved back to Idaho from Alabama. It was so cool and the people were great. We got there just before closing. They stayed open just for us. I recommend this to anyone and have continued to talk about it. It was fun and very interesting!
This is a very interesting and impressive place. I brought a group of 50 here and it received rave reviews. I loved the layout. You wind through various displays showing how roads and transportation methods have evolved from the Oregon Trail days to the current Interstate system (above which this museum is built). The exterior has a dugout home, a... 更多
Huge investment to put this whole destination up in the air over the Interstate. You walk inside, pay $12 and get a special radio receiver and headphones. Professional sound production in the building and headphones working together make a memorable experience Pioneers, explorers, railroad, early highway, Interstate 80, drive in movies were replaced with color TV in homes. Chronological in... 更多
This is a beautiful building with a fun tour, but it's more a historical fiction type museum with the history of Mormons and what they want the world to think happened, not always an accurate protrayal.
We greatly enjoyed the movie in the visitor center, the surroundings, and the brief walk. Really regret not spending the money to visit the museum; it looked outstanding in person, and we had seen a movie about it, too, but decided to pass due to price, and now wish we'd spent the money to go.
Passed under the Archway several times over the years, but finally got consensus with the family and money in the wallet to actually visit it. Personally, I think the ticket price is high for what you get, but it's worth visiting this over-and-back Nebraska History museum once regardless. The tour is radio-based, self-guided and therefore self-paced. You'll see life-sized dioramas... 更多
Travelling across this highway, one passes under the arch. Next time, STOP! It is worth it. Every aspect of history is laid out in concise and appealing manner. The staff are fantastic, so cheery and helpful. This facility will give you insights into The history of this country that the schools do not and can not teach.
This was my third trip over quite a few years. If you've never been it's worth a stop. And the price. Especially if you like history - settler days to Route 66 all laid out. They did have an outside section that was new but the rest was the same. I did enjoy it.
