We have been consistently impressed by the Holter Museum of Art during our annual visits to Helena. Last year, we were intrigued by a display of the sculpture-creation process by a local Montana sculptor. This year, we happened upon a showcase of art from local schools and were not disappointed: the group works by the younger grades were cleverly coordinated... 更多
Every time I go, I am pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the exhibits. Always something interesting to look at. And if nothing else, the gift shop is a great place to pick up some great pottery, glass work and other artwork at reasonable prices.
Regional and local artists are highlighted at the Holter. Near Last Chance Gulch and the Cathedral. Museum store has great choices of quality art works and jewelry = great gifts. Exhibits change regularly.
If you're looking for the Metro Museum of Art this isn't it and should not be compared to what you find in big cities. The Holter is a FREE small, fine art museum with a nice diversity of art and styles from local artists. Additionally, they offer educational programs for all ages and have a great shop to purchase your... 更多
This small museum had interesting exhibits including traditional paintings by local artists, contemporary American Indian art and art from Tibet. The gift shop has lovely pottery and jewelry by local artisans. A nice cultural and educational touch to downtown Helena.
It's okay. As someone else said, interesting but not spectacular. A pleasant way to spend 30-40 minutes. You'll pass right by if you're walking downhill from the cathedral to Last Chance Gulch. Might as well drop in. Entrance is free but there's a box for donations, although no one is standing there pressuring you. The suggested donation is $8 for... 更多
The Holter Museum of Art is a vibrant, enriching, dynamic fixture in the Helena community. Visitors can experience the traveling exhibits from Northwest artists as well as artists from around the globe. Aside from the galleries there are educational experiences available for anyone from 4-94.
A lovely small museum with works by local artists and a killer gift shop located in the heart of the tourist district a block from the cathedral.
We decided to spend a bit of time in the gallery....most impressed with the qualify of the exhibitions -- from oils to ceramics and weavings and beautiful jewellry....be sure to visit....
We enjoyed the exhibits. The gift shop was great for buying work by local artisans and artists while supporting the museum programs. Check out the Tim Holmes bronze sculpture across the street at the Methodist church.
