It's pretty mind blowing to see firsthand the impacts that 30 years of strip mining will forever have on the environment here at the Berkeley pit. I recommend this one of a kind hole in the ground to anyone who has any interest in history, environment, or nature.
Worth a stop if in the area. Interesting to learn about how it became polluted and what is being done to try to fix it. Admission is only $2 so it's worth it.
This is my second visit in a year and I think it is one of the most beautiful polluted sites in the United States! Really interesting history and what is being done to help fix this superfund site. Admission $2. Cute gift shop & restrooms on site. Lovely garden area. A Must-See when in Butte

This is a cheap ($2 for adults) attraction that allows you to look into the past and understand the magnitude of the mining operations that used to extract billions of dollars of resources out of the ground, allowing Butte to become one of the richest cities on the planet. Well worth taking the short time to view the massive open... 更多
Very interesting, This is one deep hole or lake which is still filling up with contaminated water. nothing can live in this water.Only four dollars to get in.
We took a break from fishing in the Ruby Valley and headed to Butte for the day. A quick stop at the Chamber of Commerce and we decided on four things we wanted to see. The Berkley Pit was an active copper mine that today is filled with water. It’s well worth the $2.00 entry fee just to head out... 更多

To get the entire story of this toxic lake and the history of mining and its effects on the environment, this is a must see in Butte,... 更多
