Lovely small waterfall. Relatively easy hike, 0.7 miles up a slight slope, on a paved path. You can scramble right up to the base of it, if you want. Uncrowded....in late October, at least. Worth the side trip of about 40 minutes from Bozeman.
The falls are gorgeous in the late fall! It is an easy hike up to see them, even with a little snow on the ground it was an easy trek. The falls trail head is tricky to find, you have to keep an eye out for the few signs they have
We arrived after first snow. We were not really prepared for the slippery surface, but made it anyway. A paved path the whole way, and easy climb to the falls. Worth a short visit, but do not plan your whole day by the falls.
Gallatin National Park is beautiful! We grabbed coffee for a Sunday drive through the park and loved every mile! Stopped at this trailhead and made the short venture up to the falls. Everyone was very friendly on this nice, easy trail. Saw little dogs, elderly and small kids making the trip. There are a few spots to sit on a... 更多
The ride up to Palisade falls is worth the trip alone. Just gorgeous views, you could easily have a picnic along the way. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Also bring the camera as the falls and surrounding area is beautiful.
Even though the falls were running a little low on water, it was still worth the easy .7m walk to them. We climbed right up to them and were amazed at the different rock formations surrounding them. Don't forget to stop along the way for stunning river photos, especially in Autumn.
The hike back to this falls is paved and easy for kids and adults alike. There is an outhouse at the trail head which is convenient also. The falls were extremely pretty and well worth the .7 mile walk.
This is a great hike in the hyalite area. I've been 3 times since moving to Bozeman. The whole family can enjoy the hike. Getting to the area can be a bit rough because the road is very gravely. The walk itself is pretty easy. It is paved most of the way. It is also wheelchair accessible.
My son and I set up camp in Hyalite Canyon and decided to do an easy hike. We strolled up the path to Palisade Falls (one of dozens of falls in the area) and found it to be quite crowded on the 77 degree September day. However, for those more adventurous, you can do a short rock pitch adjacent to... 更多
