After experiencing a blizzard in Yellowstone and being informed that many trails remained closed due to snow, we stayed close to Bozeman and really enjoyed Gallatin Canyon. The scenic beauty is truly great along 80 percent of the drive from Bozeman to West Yellowstone. There are plenty of "turn-outs," and they are adding more. But beware the canyon road can be dangerous: too many big trucks hold-up traffic - people do not have an opportunity to pass, and drivers who want to take in the beauty fail... 更多
Left our Yellowstone experience via the Gallatin Canyon drive (US 191) and found it to be an easy and scenic drive back to Bozeman. There were many interesting trailheads that we would have liked to explore and numerous pulloffs for fisherman but not many possibilities for a rest stop until we got to Big Sky.
A must is an early morning drive in the fall. Just as the sun has come up. Mist and low clouds shroud the peaks and flow into the valleys. The Aspens will be changing in late Sept early October. Side trip up to Lone Peak at Big Sky is nice. Grab a meal at Bucks T4. Watch for moose in... 更多
