This is a very nice zoo with lots of good animals. It is not a huge zoo, so it won't tire you out walking through it. I like how they let the peacocks roam free. We saw several throughout the park and some had babies with them.
We really enjoyed our visit. The zoo itself was nice, clean, & inviting. The shocker was in the way they have chosen to inflate their pricing on everything. When you visit a small zoo the last thing one expects is Disney land priced food ,drink & souvenirs.
I rated this zoo very good because it is a pleasant place to walk about with family and see a variety of animals, including some from the area (e.g., coyotes, bobcats, some snakes). Visitors get a glimpse of animals organized by continents. There are places to feed the animals (e.g., giraffes, goats) and various education opportunities. It cannot compare to... 更多
The Springfield zoo is dieing in my opinion. Some attractions were closed, including the food area. They have the main basic animals like elephants, giraffes, tigers, lions, etc. But for the price to enter it was not worth it. You can see pretty much everything in 3 hours. For our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) it would... 更多
We just visited the zoo as we do about once every other year or so... Its always a memorable experience... Im not too impressed with the boardwalk being closed or the switch to tokens that cost $1 to feed the fish and petting zoo animals that used to cost .25 cents for the same amount of food! But its for... 更多
We took our 5 year old and 1 year old. They both had a blast as did we! There was plenty of places to stop and rest throughout the park and quite a few vending machines as well. We absolutely loved the double strollers they have. Very convenient.
This is a nice, clean and enjoyable zoo. We enjoyed spending the morning at the zoo. It was hot & REALLY far walk from the car in the parking lot. The highlight was feeding the giraffes.
I think Dickerson Park needs a revamp. Granted we went on a over 90* day and the animals were not moving too much if at all. It just needs updating.
Visited this zoo today with kids from 5 to 73. We went early due to the hot weather. There are many shady spots and the animals were were able to see most of them. Enjoyed the elephant encounter at 11:00am. Enjoyed a picnic lunch at the neighboring park across the parking lot. Great place to spend a half a day.
Family friendly, perfect for an afternoon's activity. Not so large that young children can't handle it. Especially good value for kids and seniors. Free parking - unusual in today's world of pricey family attractions. Many animals may be lethargic or taking shelter on hot days so plan your visit accordingly.
