Decent sized art museum with a variety of interesting exhibits. They recently had a theft of their Andy Warhol's soup cans, hope they get those back soon. There's also some are outside to look at.
We arrived with only 1-1/2 hr to spare, but it was plenty of time to enjoy the Watercolor USA and String Theory exhibitions. We even got a chance to see Anne Lindberg working on her current Tilted Sky exhibit. We plan to spend more time there on our next visit.
we are spending a few days in Springfield and while looking for local attractions, I came upon the Springfield Art Museum. The building is rather plain from the outside, but this museum is a real treasure for Springfield. There was a exhibit of local students' artwork that was amazing. What a treat for a museum to open up gallery space... 更多
We spent several hours recently at the Springfield Art Museum and couldn't have been more impressed. Enjoyed the diversity of the exhibits tremendously.
I visited this museum with 3 other family members. It is a small museum, yet the exhibit spaces feel light and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed the 3 impressive exhibits. They also have a very nice gift shop.
A visit to the Springfield Art Museum is a great way to spend the afternoon. It is very welcoming and easy to do self directed tours. The artwork is displayed beautifully and labels and descriptions are easily accessed. Original artwork by worldwide famous artists. The Springfield Art Museum is a gem!
Would highly recommend this museum. There was an Andy Warhol exhibit there when we went. Really really cool. As well as other well known artists. They have come a Paul Revere spoon, a Grandma Moses painting and many more notable artist work. And it's Free. Please give a donation Well well worth it

A whole gallery was devoted to an artist whose silhouette black and white images were pornographic. The little sign in front of the open door to this... 更多
Nice time and can push the grand kids around and talk while doing it.I took classes here when I was a kid in the summer and they were fun and inexpensive. They change the art frequently so it's always a new trip.
First off, this museum is free...which is rather unbelievable! Unfortunately, when I went there was an issue with the A/C in half of the building so I missed the permanent exhibits. Which I guess if I had to miss any exhibits at least it was the permanent so I can go back a second time, and I will. It seems... 更多
