What a treasure to have in our back yard. The National Cemetary and Historic Park plus 200 years of history. Very peaceful, full of deer and other wildlife. Can be sad.
What a wonderful park. It is located in South St. Louis County right next to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary. The park has several roads to drive with pull over's overlooking the Mississippi River. Numerous walking, paved walking paths thru woods and along the river. Several great museums are also located on the grounds with many picnic pavilions.
Beautiful historic and scenic nature park along the Mississippi River in South St. Louis County. You will see nature at it's finest and the park is clean and well maintained, hiking trails, biking trails and areas to relax.
Amazing place to Honor those and their families that have served our country. It size is large. I'm told they average 30 Burials a day here. The graves are occupied by servicemen from all military branches. It truly is a sobering moment to hear Taps in the background and see the military men bury one of their fellow brothers or... 更多
The entrance to the Jefferson Barracks Historic Park is beautiful! I wanted to stop just to take a picture of the architecture. We were told that the cemetery located inside actually has burial mounds of the Cahokia Indians. The drive to the Civil War museum is a scenic drive. I bet in the fall when the colors change it is... 更多

The cemetery is breathtakingly beautiful, and the rows of grave markers are so straight and well-kept. There are deer in the park. But most importantly, it is... 更多
My husband is writing a book on historic cemeteries, so it was our dream to visit this cemetery when we moved to Missouri. Coming from SoCal, there are a couple of standout military cemeteries that are quite beautiful in their own right. The best, of course, is Ft. Rosecrans, which stands on a hill and overlooks the Pacific Ocean on... 更多
The new aquatic center is brand new and beautiful. It just opened up this summer. It has a lazy river, a climbing wall a diving board and a jumping board. Very nice.
The Civil War Museum at Jefferson Barracks was a huge surprise. It is so interesting with displays and videos that tell about the people and the times. The staff was so knowledgable and helpful in our search for information on our great uncle, a union soldier, who died there.
This park/national cemetery is an amazing place! You have the incredible cemetery grounds, which are rich with history and fascinating older headstones, too. Then you have the park, which features paved walking trails, lots of native wildlife, and perfect picnic places. It is a decent hike also if you go off trail. And, bring a camera for some terrific nature... 更多
