We are two sexagenarian couples who travel Europe extensively. The visit to the Chateau de Tarascon was fun and informative. The Chateau is in excellent repair and the views from the top are wonderful. Well worth the visit.
Already from the outside, this chateau in Tarascon stands out by its sheer size. Well worth visiting, the views from the top are amazing, historically fascinating, it takes a couple of hours to visit as there is so much to see. Should not be missed if you are anywhere near Tarascon. The town of Beaucaire across the bridge is also... 更多
A bit outside the mainstream Provence sights, this castle is certainly worth a visit. It dates from the 15h century when the days of fortified castles was more or less over. Maybe this is why the castle is in such an excellent shape. The location on the banks of the Rhone river is gorgeous and everything inside is well maintained... 更多
Not on our radar or in most guide books for that matter, but we were stranded for a few days in May due to the refinery strikes and came across this Chateau. It is WELL worth a visit --- first because it is as close to the destroyed Bastille as you may ever get, but also as it is quite... 更多

The forbidding walls of this 15th century castle by the Rhone river hide quite a different, more mellow atmosphere inside. The inner garden with trees, medicinal plants and a charming narrow basin is a delight. The various rooms are well preserved but empty. The castle was used as a military prison for centuries and prisoners have left graffiti, including a... 更多
We had an enjoyable visit here as well as its sister city and rival beaucaire across the rhone. It was interesting to compare the two towns as Tarascon has been spiffed up whereas beaucaire is in a more natural nontourist state with more to see, and to us it's far more appealing to explore. You can see from the Tarascon... 更多
The chateau is fantastic - it is right in the middle of the town and it was great fun clambering up and down the stairs looking at the different rooms. The explanations in English are fine and the views from the top are very good indeed. Yes, we would recommend a visit to Tarascon Chateau.
