This are different in Missouri. They are installing bear proof trash cans. I have lived here for 60 years and have never seen a bear. Go have fun. Visit Rocky falls in the SUMMER.
My husband and I had the place to ourselves in November. I've been here during summer, too, and it wasn't crowded. The water depth and clarity are safe for children wearing flotation. The parking lot is next to the creek, so walking is easy. Think twice before you try to climb on any of the rocks. They can be wet... 更多
We spent a couple hours at Big Spring and decided to go on to Alley Mills but found Rocky Falls on the way. I have lived within a hours drive for the last eight years and never heard of Rocky Falls. This is very out of the way but worth the Saturday afternoon drive.
Missouri has an abundance of clear-water rivers perfect for canoes and kayaks. However, if you tire of fighting currents. We have an abundance of shut-ins as well that allow you to have a lazy day on a tube, raft or pebble beach. I like Rocky Falls for a number of reasons but there are also two other shut ins on... 更多
Great area to swim. The falls are beautiful and the water isn't as cold as many of the rivers. You don't have to worry about kids floating away! People can climb the falls; they are slippery and caution is needed.
Great place for the kids to climb (also adults)..... great place for pictures as well. I can also see this as a great swimming hole and a picnic spot in the summer. There was a few families picnicking the day that we were there.
Rocky Falls Shut In is a gorgeous waterfall with a wading pool below. You can climb the fall, or just sit on the sandy beach. There are very few amenities, so bring whatever you will need for a picnic, or to just sit and enjoy.
One of the less-commonly-visited sites near Eminence, Missouri is Rocky Falls. During warm weather, many rivulets of water flow down the surface of the mighty rock face. When it gets cold, marvelous ice sculptures are created by the interaction of rock, water and cold. When it's warm one can wade or swim; when it's colder, one can still enjoy the... 更多
While camping at the Echo Bluff we decided to take a drive out and check out Rocky Falls. It was probably about a 30 minute drive or so, but it was pretty. Parking is limited here, but we were able to find spots easy enough. There are a few picnic tables and a restroom available as well. Personally, the falls... 更多
