Being that our main destination was supposed to be The Vicksburg Nat'l Park, we almost passed up this place. But, we were so glad that we stopped! There were a lot of artifacts and interesting sights in the museum and on the grounds. We got a kick out of the boot leg whiskey submarine (it was a real thing) and... 更多
If you need tv (unless you have satellite), wifi (unless you have a personal hotspot), and phone service (unless you're willing to travel 5 miles into town), this is not the place for you. But if you enjoy peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, you'll like this campground. There's an upper and a lower campground. You have to go... 更多
This is truly a hidden gem. It is a campground with very nice campsites that have full hook-ups. It has a museum with artifacts from World War 2 and the civil war. It was a site of battles in the civil war. It also has buildings scattered around the property with a self guided driving tour.It is very picturesque. There... 更多
The first weekend in Sept, 2016, spent 4 nights in my RV while motorcycling the length of the Natchez Trace Parkway. I was absolutely highly impressed with the Grand Gulf Military Park Campground. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. The grounds and facilities were clean and in good order. The bathhouses, while old, were clean and in good working... 更多
At the start its a walking tour and museum than becomes a driving tour with buildings, a cemetery, and an observation tower. After the driving tour go across the street to the Mississippi River.
The drive to get to this location is so worth taking. At first, I wondered if I should keep going since I had driven so far, but kept going. I am glad I did. The little museum is really nice and the staff was so friendly. The ground are beautiful. I live in Mississippi and did not realize the battle... 更多
When first visiting the Grand Gulf Military Park I was amazed at how well kept it was. It is off the main road and secluded, so it's almost hidden from view of most visitors. But the grounds of this park is so cool and calm. It's breath taking. You can even walk down to the old Port, where Port Gibson... 更多
We enjoyed the museum and many exhibits. We came specifically to see the church that used to be in Rodney MS but enjoyed the whole park. It looks like it has nice places to camp and hook up RVs.
The best part was the people in the museum. It was a hodge podge of items and many had no bearing on the location itself. Even the chapel pictured on the review was moved from another location. Well worth the 3 bucks if you are in the area. We had gone to see the Ruins of Windsor so were close.
