This is a very nice state park. We go to spend the day at the splash pads. There is very little shade and it can get crowded fast so plan accordingly. oh... and there might be some fighting over picnic tables as there aren't enough to accommodate.
If the culvert next to the Dam is still broken, it's kind of neat to see the large whirlpool. Other than that, it's just another hot place in the pines of Hattiesburg.

My husband and I camped at Paul B. Johnson recently. Here are my observations: -The front and back entrances are left unattended most of the time. There are no gates.
