This is a great place to stop for any information you may need about Columbus, they are very knowledgeable and can tell you the best places in town to eat.
This is his actual house and is used for the Welcome Center. I like to walk through here to see the amazing architecture of the building and the grandiosity of the time period it represents. Especially good to stop during the Annual Spring Pilgrimage!!!
I recommend visiting this welcome center, which is really an old home in Columbus. It is built in front of Tennessee Williams original home in the town. The center follows Mr. Williams playwright history, including "A Streetcar Named Desire". Furnishings are from the era of the plays. What a great place to visit!

The gift shop had some cute local items, but the most appealing part of this welcome center was the helpfulness of the staff. Our group had traveled downtown from our hotel by chartered bus, but had a couple of older ladies, who... 更多
Friendly staff, know their stuff, and plenty of great information available. I like being able to pick up a phone book here for the city map.
The Building is painted a Victorian Yellow to easily tell tourists to drive Main Street and look for the little Yellow House. The host was very knowledgable of the city and added a tour through the house. Tennessee Williams did live here at age 3 and his father was associated with the nearby Episcopalian Church. A huge piece of history, who hasn't read one of his books or watched a movie based on one. So much to learn plus a welcome center also! More towns should try this, even if they don't have a Tennessee Williams. The best of the best as far as welcome centers go.
Staff can give visitors insight into activities to do in the area. Also have books written by local authors that can be purchased. Very clean and informative place to visit. There is no cost associated with this welcome center,
