This is a very walkable, attractive shopping area with pleasant street trees and sidewalk cafes. There are many nice shops and some excellent restaurants. Parking can be difficult on weekends.
The Grand Avenue area has a lot to offer. The next time we are in this part of town, we plan on exploring it much more to check out some of the shops and restaurants. Even if you don't have a lot of time,at least drive around to see all of the great old mansions and charming houses.
I get to Grand Avenue about once a year, and always enjoy the visits. Biggest issue is parking, which is very limited on the street, although there is a pay ramp on the corner I frequent. Pricy shopping and eating, but then, I am used to the bargains and free parking in the suburbs.
Whenever I'm in St. Paul I enjoy walking the streets of Grand Avenue. They have amazing local shops and some of the best restaurants. Grand old days is something to see if you can make it early June. Bands and food, people watching, always great. A great variety of stores here. Unique one of a kind stores and main stream as well. A favorite place of mine.
So much to see- Creative Kids store- remodeled Kowalski store- Cooks- Grandview Theater- coffee shops- restaurants - so much more in between!!!!!
