We stopped in to check out this park and were pleased to find north woods wilderness still exists. We hiked the bog walk and the dam area. The lake was beautiful and unspoiled by humans. By the way- there were wild raspberries and blueberries to pick. Yummy! Don't forget the insect repellent.
The cabin at camp 3 here is wonderful. It's down a dirt road about a mile from the showers and everyone else. Completely secluded. The cabin is simple with two bunk beds, a table and benches, and a screen porch. No electricity. Vault toilet nearby. You get a pretty lake to yourself. The lake is a great lake for kayaking, great sun sets and the cabin we stayed in is very nice! The only problem was the housekeeping in the bathrooms and especially the showers are very poor look like they haven't been cleaned with bleach in years! Very scenic but the bugs during the summer will nearly drive you insane. I'm not kidding. I'm dead serious. Be sure to bring plenty of bug spray and a screen tent.
Not a very large park. Has a swimming beach. We didn't swim, but water seemed clear (no weeds washed ashore). Very buggy. Mosquitoes attacked immediately.
