I had to visit the police records department this morning. I entered the building from the 5th Street side and declared to the records clerk what a lovely building it is. Well, she directed me to the rotunda on the 4th street side. Wow. Wow. Wow. Spectacular five story atrium with a glorious statue of the Father of the Waters.... 更多
I love the old architecture in the building from the clock tower to the basement tunnels that connect the skyway. The red granite make the building unique. The inside granite steps show the wear of millions of steps taken. The old offices and doors were built to last for generations. It is an amazing building to walk around in.
The Richardsonian Romanesque exterior architecture is nice contrast to the concrete and glass structures in the surrounding area. The size and style of City Hall reflect the ambitions of a young Minneapolis in the late 19th century. Main interior lobby is amazing and worth checking out. The building contains the office of the mayor, city council, and some city services.... 更多

This building is a must see for everyone There are a number of locations for events......We had our Wedding Ceremony in "chambers" A real special feeling landmark in Minneapolis
Try not to get sent here. Connected to Light rail and close to bike links. Statue of Hubert Humphrey: Mayor of Minneapolis, founder of DFL and civil rights champion, VP to LBJ and Democratic candidate to presidency with loss in 1968 to Nixon outside to greet you.
Just wandering in to view the architecture and statue is worth the visit. The upper floors are supposedly haunted by the souls of the hanged, but I've not seen them. The building itself is fantastic and an excellent stop for all visitors.
CLEARLY A GEM OF RESTORATION, IT IS STILL THE WORKING CENTER OF CITY GOVERNMENT....no it is not a museum, city meeting agendas are posted around, its as hussle and bussle of people doing the city's work...police, city workers, staff and the lobbyists, the petitioners, the complainers, the school groups getting a look at "democracy in action"....and it all happens in... 更多
