If there's not a festival going on, this place is quiet and a beautiful spot to wander or just sit and watch the splendor of the harbor. IF there's a festival going on, the Bayfront ROCKS! Either way, just enjoy it!
Its just a nice green space when there is not an event. You can park free by the playground and walk all around, going behind the DECC and over the slip bridge to Canal Park. The parking cost U$10 and if we were to leave the lot we have to pay again. The entrances to the festival U$50. We were two, so before we could even have a bottle of beer, we had already spent U$110. The music was great the ambiance good but the event was really overpriced.
If you want to get down by the Lake this is the place to go. It's also a good place for a family picnic. The shoreline is very rocky in some areas. There are many boulders so I would not recommend children playing by the water.
We spent a long weekend at the Bayfront Blues Festival. Food; music; atmosphere; walking!! What a great time to just amble around and listen to fantastic music while you buy food from local vendors. This is a "must do" in one of my favorite cities.......Duluth!!
