Seeing the ice heaves and frozen formations is astounding! You walk over the sand dunes and quickly come upon beautiful blue ice - it's quite a sight to see.

The vastness of the lake. Sandy, warm (in the sun, for a little while) beaches. Driftwood, dogs and waves. A great visit, and a real feel for the maritime culture around the lake.

Nice sand, beautiful water (although typically very cold!). Good place to sit on a blanket and reflect or have a picnic. Don't miss it.
