You cant go wrong on the shores of Lake Superior and Park Point this seemingly endless sand beach is wonderful. Old growth forest in a unique environment. It is how ever a bit stressful watching for poison ivy that is everywhere. If you do this hike know what poison ivy looks like and step carefully. I have never in my... 更多
This hike was one of the first things we did when arrived in Duluth. It's a beautiful hike. You can take the trial that leads down the forest side. Trail is nice and solid with sand dunes once in a while. The breeze of the Lake is so refreshing. My family and I decided no matter what, we wanted to... 更多
You really feel the lake effect here, so be prepared for wind and possibly chilly weather. Worth bringing a jacket because the lake is beautiful and peaceful, and it's a nice trail to walk as a family.
There are a few attractive components to this hike. Of course the foremost is Lake Superior. But what we enjoyed most was the tall stands of White and Red Pines. These very large and tall pines made for a cool and breezy walking area. But note there is also sand dunes as a component of this trail. The map says... 更多
Park point has great beaches and it is very long so it never feels crowded. It's a great place to swim, see the ships with an incredible view of Duluth.
We hike this trail at the end of Park Point often (park at the airport if you don't want to traverse all of the beach trail) and rarely see more than a handful of others. Late in the day, it's nice to follow the trail almost to the Superior Entry, then return along the shore — lovely view of the... 更多
We have gone to Park Point the last 4 times we have been up to Duluth. Its a nice quiet park where you can walk the beach of Superior or along a nature trail. Best advise if you want to walk out to the end of the trail, is to park at the airport and go from there. The last... 更多
I love this trail. It starts at the end of park point and travels through a beautiful old growth forest. The trail eventually ends up at the Superior Canal. I have hiked this trail during the spring summer and fall. It is easy to imagine the natives roaming this unique area before the land was corrupted. Many times I have... 更多
Beautiful! In all weather it is worth a trip. It was 45 degree, raining, and windy and it was perfect. Wind, waves, sand...nothing like Lake Superior. And then a quick hop back to coffee shops and lunch at Canal Park. How can you beat it?
We took a great Sunday morning hike here. We parked our car at the end of the point by the airport. Trail is to the left and you literally are walking in beautiful woods and terrain. So many natural wildflowers....berries...wildlife..old old buildings also are tucked away, not in use anymore but it makes you think back to when they were. We... 更多
