Everyone should take the time to visit the locks. It is fascinating to watch the large lake freighters maneuver into the locks, watch the water rise or fall, locks open and ships go on their way. There is a great observation deck, the first level is enclosed with glass and has a ramp for handicapped accessibility. Top level is open... 更多
Who doesn't appreciate seeing ships from pretty much all over the globe go through the locks no more than 100' feet from them? The museum is quite informative, and there are some good apps with which to track the... 更多
What an awesome thing to do!! The best way, we think, is to view the locks is from a boat tour. We enjoyed it immensely! It is very entertaining to get to know how and why they came to be and what an impact it had on our country. Easy walking if you choose not to do the boat tour.... 更多
Great feat of engineering. Very good displays and good opportunities to see the locks in action. There is a viewing gallery and it is accessible. Like anything else, security is a necessity. But it's a good opportunity to see history and learn about transportation and commerce.

One complaint...people crowd the front of the boat and won't always give others a chance to take their photos. The crew could remind people to be courteous.... 更多
It's free, easy to find and even my 5 and 7 year Olds had fun learning about them from the visitor center. You can call and find out when the ships are coming through, I wish I had know that, I would have planned our visit better.
