Whenever we go to The Soo, we visit Rotary Park to watch freighters and boats go by. We usually will pick up burgers from Clyde's (right next door) or from West a Pier. Lots of picnic tables and benches available. Ports potty near. If you take food, you may want to take a table cloth, as there are quite a... 更多
I live within walking distance of Rotary Park. It is my favorite place in the Soo! My autistic son and I love to come here for the natural enrichment! It is also dog-friendly, as long as they are leashed. There is the best drive-in restaurant (Clydes) right there, as well as a golf course, kayak/canoe launch, kids' fishing pond, swimming... 更多
This is a small but pleasant park with trees for shade, picnic tables, swings and slide for kids. Kids fishing spot also adults can fish off the bank. The freighters go by real close and the Sugar Island ferry goes back and forth regularly. The park is a small island so water all around. Grab some food at Clyde's and... 更多
This park sits on a little piece of land that juts out along the St. Mary's river. It's a very cool spot to sit and watch the freighters pass by right in front of you, unfortunately we had to quickly get back in the car because the bugs were so bad, and the picnic tables were covered in seagull poop.... 更多
Fishermen, sight seers, just nice people here. Watched the ships from the locks and watched the car ferry go back and forth. Had dinner at a local eatery and enjoyed the evening.
I went to this park for the Boat Nerd picknik the day before Engineers day and had a nice lunch with people bringing pot luck. This is one of the best spots to view the big ships passing by.
We were there for our sons lacrosse games. It was so beautiful to sit and watch the games by the water. We were so lucky to have a ship come through while we were there. The kids stopped and watched the ship for a few minutes! Awesome!
It's an small island connected by a man-made land-bridge for ship watching, picnics, small family activities, and fishing. It's just down stream of the locks and right next to the Sugar Island Ferry (Hi Dad) and Clyde's "awesome heart-attack-waiting-to-happen" Drive-in restaurant.
