The main reason to go here is to enjoy the view of the bridge. It's a marvel and this park enhances the experience. Ever time we visit this area, we stop at this park to take a photo. There are places to sit with for a picnic and to bring a chair and relax. There isn't a sandy beach, but...
If you are going to the Mackinaw bridge, stop at the Bridge View Park. You will get a breathtaking view of the bridge and the lakes. Additionally, there is an air-conditioned building with restrooms and a historical presentation of the Mackinaw bridge. It is a nice stop to stretch your legs and take in a great view.
While driving around came upon the park. It is located at the base of the bridge (but accessible by local streets not the bridge approach). Nice place to take pictures. Quite a few people were there on the day we stopped.
We went and got burgers from Clydes and had dinner shore side, was nice. Park was clean and had a nice view of the bridge and pretty flower beds too. Was not crowed when we were there. No place to get into the water tho that we found.
Bridge view park is easy to get to at the north approach to the bridge. The view of the Mackinac Bridge is fantastic. The displays showing the history of the bridge are thorough and include great photographs. When we visited, the grounds of the park are beautifully decorated with summer flowers. There is no fee for visiting the park.
