I've spent many hours on the trail in every season -biking, running, walking and snowshoeing. It's well maintained, well used and has some of the most beautiful views in the area. Yesterday I took a short walk and took a photo as it was getting dark.
This is a nice trail with excellent views of the bay. There are a few rolling hills with a couple of steeper climbs. At times it does ride along the highway, but overall it is nice. I believe they have fixed all the transitions from trail to driveways, where before there were some small curbs that were pretty bothersome.
The Little Traverse Wheelway is a northern Michigan gem of a trail. The trail is paved its entire length, from Harbor Springs to Charlevoux which makes it great for any type of bike. The trail is approximately 25 miles long. The views of Little Traverse Bay all along the way are stunning! I have ridden this trail a number of... 更多
I wanted to do as much walking as I could while in Petoskey. This trail was great! I took it from downtown to the Stafford's Bay View Inn for Breakfast. You can also access the Kilwin's that's outside of the downtown area. I really enjoyed being able to walk by the water!
The trail is paved for its entirety and offers beautiful views of Little Traverse Bay, beautiful lakefront homes and clubs. Terrain is rolling with a real hill or two, but overall not too strenuous for someone accustomed to cycling. The trail doesn't include the town of Charlevoix, but you'll see nice spots in Bay Harbor, Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Consider... 更多
Traveled Petosky to Harbor Springs on day one. Just over 20 miles. Pretty flat except for the hill leaving Petosky. It does put you right next to the road going the wrong way for a short distance. Road Petosky to Charlavoix on day two. Great ride with some rolling hills. About 35 miles round trip. Make sure when traveling west... 更多
We rode this trail in 2 days. The first day, we began in Charlevoix and rode to Petosky and back. This was a 30 mile trip, slightly long for us! There were some mild hills, but all in all, not too bad! We had lunch in downtown Petosky. The second day, we put our bikes on our car and took... 更多
We had a great time biking on the Wheelway recently. We started in Petosky with rented bikes, went about 8 miles along the trail and back. There is beautiful scenery all along, some parts are right along the lake and some are through wooded areas.
