Camped in Tannery Creek campground. Nice wooded sites for the most part, close to the beach access point. Bathrooms and showers were clean. The campground beach was a bit rocky, but once you were about 20-25 feet out, the bottom was sandy. I really hope to get back here soon!
Petoskey State Park on Lake Michigan in Little Traverse Bay has a big beautiful beach. There are usually waves to play in and clear, fresh water to cool you down in the summer. There is a changing/restroom building that also offers drinks and snacks. My grandchildren from CA think it is the most beautiful beach they have seen, especially the... 更多
I don't think it is possible to get sites any closer than these and we have camped for 50 years. Also, we were unfortunate to be surrounded by the Herdmans. This is true folks. These 3 campsites surrounding us were all together and they walked right thru the site like it was theirs. Actually had to say excuse me to... 更多
The dunes here are nice, for a beach that is close to a lot of other things. Obviously they won't be like the ones in Sleeping Bear Dunes, but enough for the kids to climb up, work up a sweat, then hop in the water. It's a crowded beach, for sure. For 11 bucks you get access to a beautifully maintained beach. there are nice picnic areas as well. That 11 bucks also gets you a pass for all Michigan state parks.
This has been the best state park in Michigan We have been...small beach just at the end of your camp row...love the Trail way to bike into Petoskey and Harbor Springs...getting up early to look for Petoskey stones is addictive...found some good ones...only thing that I didn't like is some people park at the grocery, which is convenient to walk... 更多
We stopped by for a beach walk on our trip Up North. The beach was on the small side, compared to others in the area, but that didn't disappoint. From the location, you can see Bay View and Petoskey on the South, and Harbor Springs on the North. Very nice. We had a good walk, and then stopped at the... 更多
This park boasts a spectacular sand beach on Lake Michigan, with two campgrounds tucked in the forest behind the huge sand dunes. The massive beach is great for swimming, though when I visit in mid-June the water is frigid! Despite the cold water, the hot weather and a day playing beach volleyball in the annual Sand Dig tournament made a... 更多
