If you are going on a sunny day, please use sunglasses, the roof is white so the sun rays are everywhere, apparently there is no time limit up there, but I ran away after 10 minutes bc I couldn't keep my eyes open (my bad), but it is a nice view of the city, the volcanoes and the roof structure... 更多
Took the advice of other travelers and went up right before it closed so it wouldn't be so hot but it was pretty crowded since everyone seem to have gotten the same advice. the views were worth it and definitely bring socks if you aren't wearing shoes of use youll have to go bare footed. One of my favorite things... 更多
The interior of the Catedral has beautiful paintings (14 Stations of the Way of the Cross by Antonio Sarria), carvings and the tomb of Ruben Dario (Nicaragua's most famous poet). There appears to be ongoing restoration. It was made a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2011: "transition from Baroque to Neoclassical architecture...sobriety of interior decoration and abundance of natural light."... 更多
Climb to the top of the basilica in Leon. It's right in the middle of the city, in central park near el Sesteo. I believe it's closed from noon to 2, so try and go in the morning. There is a door at the left side of the cathedral where you can pay and climb up. Bring sunglasses!
Worth stopping in if you are out and about getting a coffee or sight seeing. Not my thing, but still nice to see.
This is the main attraction in Leon and is located right in the central square. You only have to pay 50 cordobas to climb to the top of the cathedral. From the top you get a great view of all of leon and the momotombo volcano. Make sure you get there between 8-12 and 2-4 so you can get to... 更多
For 2 or 3 dollars you get to go up on the top of the roof! The cathedral is newly renovated and really nice! It's all white and quite an astonishing place to be! The view from the top is great and you can see the whole town, just wow!! The roof is open from 8am-12 and then from 2pm-4pm.... 更多
