This is the main attraction in Leon and is located right in the central square. You only have to pay 50 cordobas to climb to the top of the cathedral. From the top you get a great view of all of leon and the momotombo volcano. Make sure you get there between 8-12 and 2-4 so you can get to... 更多
For 2 or 3 dollars you get to go up on the top of the roof! The cathedral is newly renovated and really nice! It's all white and quite an astonishing place to be! The view from the top is great and you can see the whole town, just wow!! The roof is open from 8am-12 and then from 2pm-4pm.... 更多
We went to 11am mass last Sunday. The first 25minutes was the recitation of the rosary. As a non-R.Cath christian, I could have skipped that. Service started at 11:20-25 and had great music. I highly recommend it.
The inside is like most cathedrals , when you like it, beautiful. But the extra is a visit to the roof. At the back of the cathedral you buy tickets for $3 and at another entry at the left side ( seen from the front) you go to the roof. Spectaculair vieuws.
This church, currently under renovation being painted a beautiful white is definitely worth the visit. It is a perfect place to get some great photos (barefoot!) of the shining white roof overlooking Leon and the surrounding volcanoes and countryside. To buy a ticket you must head to the market side of the church and look for a small doorway where... 更多
The historic cathedral is located between the square and the marketplace with regional products. Monumental building is currently undergoing a repair of the facade. Interesting interior and you can climb to the roof with spectacular views for a fee.
This Cathedral is stunning. It's being fixed up and re-painted and it deserves it. The rooftop access is cheap, only a few bucks, and you get a full 360 view of Leon as well as all the volcanoes in the distance. You have to take your shoes off to go up. The stairs aren't too bad for kids and adults... 更多
How could you miss Leon's biggest landmark (and the largest cathedral in all of Central America)? Though I'd been to Leon many times, I'd never had the time to visit: so glad I finally made it...though I didn't climb to the top since I wasn't feeling well. Next time!
