Visited the Taumadhi square on 2 January 2015 , guided by Mr.Prasant from Outshine Adventures. We saw amazing architecture buildings, temples ,statues ,its simply the best of engineering . I love all the Bhaktapur squares as they each have so much charm. The kids here were really friendly and great fun and I was lucky enough to see a giant chariot under construction for a festival - to be pulled through the streets by teams of strong men. Not something we see often in the west!
The Taumadhi Square is just a short walk from the Bhaktapur Durbar Square. It is dominated by the huge Nyatapola Temple. The Bhairava Temple is on the adjacent side of the square. Opposite the Bhairava Temple is the expensive and exotic Cafe Nyatapola. The tables are on the balconies of a historic pagoda temple.
The Taumidhi Square is at a walkable distance from the Durbaar Square. Its not a attraction in itself but houses the Nyatapola Temple, the tallest temple in Nepal and the Bhairvanath Temple.
Just South of the main square in Bhaktapur is this square. The Northern side of the square consists of the tall imposing Nyataponla Temple, the tallest temple in Nepal and an excellent vantage point to watch the comings and goings in the valley.
