What a great find. We were travelling down Hwy 2 when we saw the sign to "turn here" for a historic lighthouse. It was about 8 miles off the highway. The last 4 miles are gravel road. But the drive is worth it. Great lighthouse to explore. You can go up to the top which offers a fantastic view. The... 更多
Beautiful Lighthouse on Lake Michigan on a quiet, outcropping. Worth seeing these beautiful structures that really are the essence of the Great Lakes. You'll take quite a few pictures.
This lighthouse actually has Victorian features to it. It is a beautiful lighthouse and surroundings. The people were very friendly and yes you do go down a dirt road but it was in good shape. We did not view the inside because we were traveling and didn't really have the time. But would come back again to do so.
went to this lighthouse as it is not far off the main highway 2 in Gulliver, which is a small village. actually, the road to this is site, turns into a dirt road for a few miles winding to the lighthouse and if its a rainy day, one can imagine it may be a washboard but this an old picturesque... 更多
One of the prettiest lighthouses we've seen lately. Certainly much lovelier than the Grand Marais metal structure. We got there too late to tour the museum but it's worth an 8 mile trip off US-2 to see a piece of Lake Michigan history.
said to be the most haunted lighthouse in Michigan, this lighthouse has so many stories to tell. Lovingly restored by the local historical society, its members are available to tell you the stories. Be sure to visit the beach and each small building. Fascinating history can be found in each one. The climb to the top is a must, but... 更多
Very informative and well preserved! The staging in the home is authentic and in many cases original. The volunteers were knowledgeable and enthusiastic! Cheap $5 per person which includes climbing up to the top of the lighthouse. Great views!
This lighthouse, museum and gift shop cover the history of the Great Lakes lighthouses and have knowledgable staff. The point is on the northern shore of Lake Huron. The lighthouse is open to tour and there are other displays in the light keeper's house and outbuildings. You can walk out to the shores of Lake Huron and pick up thousands... 更多
We were passing through from Gatineau, Quebec to Minneapolis and we saw the sign. It is off the beaten path but well worth it. There is a guided tour of the complete lighthouse and it is preserved with rooms all furnished. We have been to the Portland Headlight but you cannot go in it at all, so this was a... 更多
