While Grand Rapids is a smaller city proper than Toledo, the metropolitan are of Grand Rapids is much larger. Yet, Toledo's museum is far superior in the quality of the exhibits. The Grand Rapids museum is far superior in its facilities and location (Grand Rapids is a far better city than Toledo and the museum is so easy to get... 更多
This is a nice museum. Hey, we're in Michigan... so you're nuts if you expect MOMA or the Chicago Institute or one of the great temples to art... but it's very nice. The art is exhibited well. There is a nice shop and cafe. You're right at Rosa Parks Circle, so there's lots of food and drink outside as well.... 更多
Small but worth it. Amazing paintings, but the groupings were a little off. Went on a Wednesday and pretty much had the gallery to ourselves. Don't miss the Any Warhol animal prints. $12 for adults.
It's right next to Rosa Parks circle. I had never been to an art museum but it I heard it was a nice place and it was (even the bathrooms are nice). And just happened to be free admission on the day we went. There are paintings and sculptures on 3 floors. It was nice to wander in the quiet... 更多
This was a free experience. It apparently is free on Thursday nights. So after a long flight we went and walked around with the kids and it was peaceful, beautiful and educational for all. A live band was playing outside also that made the atmosphere very fun.
I've enjoyed visiting the GRAM several times in the past few years thanks to the free admission on Thursday nights. I'm not a particular fan of modern or contemporary art, so the top floor is a bit gauche for my tastes, but overall it's a pleasant way to spend an hour. There are some nice, smaller Impressionist pieces that are... 更多
MUSEUM: Located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids the Art museum's beautiful contemporary building is a nice compliment to the many other modern buildings found in the downtown area. The size and scope of the museum's collection and exhibitions made it easy to take everything in, within a few hours. The simplicity of the museum's interior, makes the art... 更多
I was there for two years (at Artprize) I loved the art pieces in the Gram. The drawing with the animals piled one on top of another...the GIANT glass flowers that were absolutely stunning...alien looking neon pieces with lights. There have been so many memorable pieces there. I really enjoyed my visit there. (I'm not sure of the month that... 更多
The GRAM is a wonderful place not only for the art, but also for special events and intimate musical concerts. We went on a Sunday afternoon to hear a recital by renowned pianist Ralph Votapek. It was great, then we spent time touring the art. Great space, great art, and a good shop to purchase souvenirs. Friday's at the GRAM... 更多
As a member, we often visit the GRAM. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the art collection is constantly being rotated. In addition to the museum's collection, the exhibits brought in are interesting as well. The gift shop has some fun items in it, so be sure to check that out.
