My wife an I were just there! It was very windy!!! We braved the elements and made it out to see the lake and the sand! Excellent views!! Nice little hike.
I've reviewed the trail South of Glen Arbor and it is excellent in its scenery, trail surface, and the nice destinations at both ends. Not so much for the North section to Good Harbor Bay, even when the boardwalk is completed. The trail surface through the Port Oneida district is crap. The top surface is soft and loose. While this... 更多
This was an amazing ride. My wife and I rode our bikes from Pierce Stocking Drive parking to Glen Arbor and back. Several challenging steep inclines, several straightaways, and a whole lot of beautiful scenery! The back of Alligator Hill just before Glen Arbor was an incredible close-up experience of the devastation (hundreds of tree blow-downs) caused by last summer's... 更多
Let me preface this by stating that our 19-mile ride included NONE of the hills. We started at the Dune Climb parking lot, on the 100th birthday of the nat'l park system which was cool, and rode north toward Glen Haven. The small town is really cute and very biker friendly. The trail is very well marked until you get... 更多
We rented bikes in Empire and rode the trail to Glen Arbor and back. It was a lovely ride, with a few steep inclines and twisty hills (especially close to Empire). It's a great way to spend a few hours and see the area!
This trail keeps getting better every year. New sections are constantly being added. There are several hills in the newest section North of Glen Arbor bit it's well worth the effort. None of the hills are too difficult, I took a group of children between 6 and 12 and all were able to make the whole ride without a problem.
We have biked the Empire to Glen Arbor section of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail several times now. The trail is in great condition and well marked. Very quiet and peaceful with forest, dune and water views. Most of the trail is gently rolling but there are a couple of sections with steeper elevation changes. We often park at the... 更多
We biked this scenic trail starting at The Dune Climb up to Glen Arbor. Paved trails with minimal foot traffic the day we rode it. We road up to Glen Arbor. There's a section, about a half mile long, that had downed trees from a major storm. There are places where the trail isn't mark as well once you get... 更多
