An absolutely stunning setting for this historic lighthouse which is still in operation today. We learned about the history of Cape Cod's first lighthouse, and the massive undertaking to move it back from the precipice of a dune that was crumbling under the sea. The staff was informative and friendly and they have a cute gift shop to purchase a... 更多
Stopped here on the way to Provincetown. We did not go to the museum at the parking lot (you have to park here & walk up the path to the lighthouse). There is a small gift shop where you buy tickets for the lighthouse tour. There is a golf course at the site as well. We did the tour &... 更多
My family and I recently visited highlands center lighthouse. What a wonderful surprise. There is the Highlands center museum, the lighthouse, a viewing platform, and a golf course all in 1 visit. The viewing platform appears to be on to of a cliff (not recommended for active youngsters). But the views are great. The lighthouse has a small museum, helpful... 更多
On our way back from Provincetown I decided to stop at this lighthouse (having seen the sign driving in early that morning), and despite the fact that both the lighthouse and the gift shop were closed, it was a nice, easy and beautiful 10-minute walk to the cliff, where we learn about the erosion taking place there (because of that... 更多
We had to check-out of our hotel, but weren’t quite ready to leave the Outer Cape yet, so we detoured off Route 6 to visit Cape Light. What a nice visit. We spent about an hour at the lighthouse, inclusive of the tour and gift shop browsing. The tour is interesting on multiple levels – you get to climb up... 更多
I have been visiting this lighthouse for over 55 years. It is beautiful. Now there is a small shop with all kinds of light house related items. You can even tour the lighthouse. I highly recommend a visit.
This is the first lighthouse built on Cape Cod. Free parking close to the lighthouse. Interesting history that is available from the staff about the lighthouse. For a few dollars ($6 for adult and $5 for students), you can hear more history about the lighthouse and walk up the 69 steps of the spiral staircase to see the view. They... 更多
Not certain but this may be the only lighthouse on Cape Cod open to the public + gift shop, docent etc. There are certain conditions under which folks may actually go up into the lighthouse (we didn't). Beautifully situated and maintained. Fabulous view (website says if you go up to the top you easily see 20 miles in all directions).... 更多
