Beautiful dune trip at sunset. I have forgotten the name of the providers (there is only one licensed for Provincetown) but it would be well worth finding the providers and taking this tour. See the beautiful, natural part of Provincetown.
As if hiking the breakwater isn't enough (1.2 miles), you've got easily another mile and a half to Long Point Lighthouse. I wasn't expecting it to be open, but hope does spring eternal, does it not? Consider yourself warned: the walk on the sand will make you love concrete and asphalt for the rest of your days. It was almost... 更多
We have walked the breakwater (actually it is considered a dyke because it encloses a tidal pool) a few times, but only walked to the tip of Long Point once. It is about 3 miles each way from the street to the tip so be prepared if you are going. Just found out this year that they have shuttle service... 更多
Long Point and Wood End Lighthouses are accessible via Provincetown's Breakwater Rock Passage, which is a sometimes treacherous path over huge, uneven boulders. The path is over a mile long, and it took us about an hour to reach land. The rocks are solidly in place, but there are often large gaps between them requiring sure-footedness. In addition, be wary... 更多
Very important - go during low tide if you are walking the jetty. That aside, you have the option of walking there and back on the jetty or take the pontoon from Flyer's Boat Rentals to Long Point and walk back (you can also take the pontoon both ways). We really enjoyed walking along the beach during low tide and... 更多
The walk took my wife and I about an hour and a half, yet we went across the spit of land before turning to the lighthouse. Saw a group of seals in the bay, who seemed equally interested in us. Suggest hearty shoes for the breakwater, it gets slick and uneven. We went on a miserable day, yet that was... 更多
We walked the 1.2miles across the breakwater and the. The 1.5 mile to the lighthouse. It was well worth the walk. It's peaceful and lovely views back to P'Town. Thankfully the sun wasn't out so although it's a long walk there and back it wasn't exhausting. If you like walking I would recommend the walk. The breakwater can be slippy... 更多
We took a boat to the light house. Its located at a secluded beach. U can actually get there and stay for the day which I highly recommend. Com prepared with food and drinks. Watch the amazing seals swimming right by you.
The walk across breakwater path is fun, but do be careful. Have water while hiking out there and be prepared to walk on sand. There is poison ivy in the dunes and shrubs. The walk is relaxing with the sound of the waves. Pack light and with some goodies to enjoy relaxing out by long point. Amazing views of ptown... 更多
Set by an existing golf corse and a small museum and gift shop. The point offers spectacular views of the atlantic ocean. Original light house was moved back so as not to fall into the ocean. A bit of a walk to the point but well worth the views.
