What a wonderful structure and such great use of space! Welcoming as you come in and the layout draws you to the display of the silver Lipton cup. The cup is ornate with winged horses on each side for handles.... Then you take the elevator up to the half scale model of the ship in the children's section. A must... 更多
Looking for things to do on an out of season day in Provincetown we read that the library has a half-scale model of the sailing ship that won the Lipton Cup way back when. Seems the buiding was originally a museum and when they decided to have a model of this ship (which is huge - they had to knock... 更多
It is always gratifying to see libraries are still alive and this one is a real gem-offering more than one would expect. The ship on the top floor is a nice complement to the views from the windows.A nice place to visit.
We stopped in here to take a break from Commercial Street and was pleasantly surprised. The childrens area was clean and comfortable. There were big padded blocks for climbing. My 10 month old had a blast crawling around and climbing. If you have a little who is getting antsy from the stroller, this will give them a nice break.
Beautiful inside and out. Well organized. Views from the upper windows are very rewarding. Lots of local art on the walls.
It is such a well stocked library and well managed. Also, this is one of children's favorite places to go in Provincetown. It is not to be missed, even by tourists!
The big surprise here is the beautiful schooner ( built to scale....half size, to be exact) on the second floor. Absolutely beautiful !! Also if you climb up one more flight of stairs, you will get a stunning view over Provincetown, from the third floor. There are elevators to the second floor, which makes it easy to access for those... 更多
I know, how often do you go to a library on your trip? Believe me, it's worth a stop in. Take the stairs up to the second and third floor - you won't be disappointed!
Check out the library with its half-scale replica of the schooner Rose Dorothea INSIDE the building. There is a video you can watch about schooner in the library, too. Lots of information (of course, its a library) and a used book sale, too. The library is open 7 days a week! Bravo! Check hours.
