The center is a birders dream. Plum Islands Parker River National Wild Life Refuge was recently named one of the top three bird watching places in the U. S.
It is a wonderful location with 2 friendly, knowledgeable employees (at least 2 the day I was there) but no birds...I did go to Joppa Park and that was wonderful but no birds there either. Ya gotta be into birds to really enjoy this place but, if you are, it's a great take. Nicely educational about the local beaks.
Maybe if I was a real bird watcher this spot might be attractive. I have been here with my kids and other adults. And we come away always saying, "that was OK". Not sure why that building is there and all the people who work and volunteer there. I just dont get it, sorry. But I try to leave on... 更多
This Mass Audubon nature center and the Parker River NWR visitor center across the street both helped to orient us and gave us pointers about what birds and other wildlife to look for.
