Nestled within the Lower Glenelg National Park, the Princess Margaret Rose Caves are spectacular. We arrive via a 45 minute cruise on the "Nelson Explorer" - well worth the $32.50 adult return fare (cheaper for seniors and children). The tour commences on the half hour and lasts about 45 minutes (cost $20 per adult with concessions available). Our local guide... 更多
I first visited these caves over 20 years ago and really enjoyed the visit and now had the opportunity to show the cave to my 17 year old and 14 year old. Glad to say that they both loved the caves and has been one of the best things they have done on our recent holiday!! The entry fee was... 更多
When we got there tours are run every hour on the hour (I don't know if this all year). The tour takes about 45 minutes and costs $20/adult (concession = $17). There is a little talk at the start and then underground via some 60 odd steps that are accessed from within the shop. It is not a big cave... 更多
As a family of six it was quite expensive but definitely worth the drive from Mount Gambier. The tour guide was very good with the large group and we learnt alot on the history of the caves. We didn't take into account of the time difference with SA and Victoria but we had plenty of time to look around.

We journeyed from Portland, Victoria to the city of Mount Gambier in South Australia. On the way home to Portland we drove in to see the Princess Margaret Rose Caves. My twelve year old son was excited to see an active or wet limestone cave. He got to see stalagmites, stalactites and helactites as well as columns in the cave.... 更多
The story of the caves discovery and opening is fascinating and the caves are quite beautiful. Be aware that the steps down into the cave are quite steep and a little moist and are very steep to climb back out. The young guide did a good job but her diction made her a little hard to understand. Well worth a... 更多
