I ride Callahan State park about twice a week on a mountain bike. The longest loop trail is about 4.5 miles with enough hills for a good 45 minute cardio interval work out. It is not too technical, with few roots and rock gardens to trip you up, but just enough to keep your attention. There are usually a few... 更多
I have been running and mountain biking at Callahan for over a decade. The trails are well-maintained, and the park is huge with endless trails to explore. The south side, south of Edmands Road, and the north side have a very different character. The south side is more family friendly, with well-groomed trails that aren't too steep, and lots of... 更多
This place is known as the "dog park" so I never went since I don't own a dog but my friends encouraged me to go with them and I'm glad we went. This is a great spot to bring your dog to run around in the open fields and hills, and to look at the pretty pond. There is also... 更多
Callahan State Park is hands-down the nicest park that I have ever been to. The walking paths are beautiful, and there are so many options. I walked about the park for roughly 4 hours, and rarely ever wound up on a repeat course. The scenery is also beautiful - pastures, hills & lakes.
I don't go there anymore. This is a beautiful park, with open areas and trails through the woods, but it's ruined by careless dog owners who let their dogs run off the leash (against the rules) and the dogs poop everywhere. I see very few people clean up after their dogs. It's disgusting, and the dog owners seem to think... 更多
Callahan is a lovely park with lots of trails. Lots of folks come here to walk dogs, run the trails, or ride their bikes. It's easy to get to, though parking is tricky on busy days as the lots are small. Lots of dogs are off leash - so make sure your dog and kids are ok with that.
Hundreds of acres of nature through which you can enjoy a bike ride or a walk. Bike paths are rugged through the Forrest but easier through the flat area and on the dam. If you want a more secluded and natural experience go to the North side (across Edmonds). Dog owners heads up...great pond and grassy meadow for your best... 更多
Callahan State Park has many points of entry. On the weekends you will find riders on horseback, mountain bikers, off road running groups and dog walkers. Paths follow old stone walls, open meadows and ponds.
